The Process

Project Walk-Through

When we hear from you, we will contact you by telephone to schedule a time for an estimator to meet with you to walk and discuss your project. Within two days, the estimator will email a detailed estimate and options for you to review. The estimator will then follow up by telephone to make sure you received the estimate and to answer any questions you may have.

Bid Acceptance and Scheduling

When you are ready to move forward, please contact us by telephone at 303.840.0143 or email. At that time, we can give you an approximate start date for your project.

Our First Day on the Job

When our crew arrives at your home to begin your project, the project manager will provide you with a copy of Shades of Color’s contract which specifies the scope of the project per your discussions with the estimator. Please review it and let us know if you have any questions or need clarification about any part of it.

Once you have reviewed, approved, and signed the contract, the crew will begin their work. Please understand that installation of a concrete finish is a multiple stage process that must take place over a period of two days or more, depending on which concrete finish you’ve selected. Please feel free to talk to the project manager at any time during the project if you have any questions or concerns.

Project Completion

Upon completion of the project, the crew will clean the area and haul away all related trash. We encourage you to walk around the completed project and make note of any touch-ups or issues you may have. The project manager will also walk the project to assure that it has been completed per the scope of the contract.

Contract payment in full is expected upon completion of your project. We will mail you an invoice marked paid along with a Concrete Care Sheet, which provides information to assist you in properly caring for your new concrete finish.

Shades of Color provides a 12 month correction period (limited warranty) from the date of installation. If any issues arise with your concrete finish during that 12 month time period related to our workmanship, we will repair them at no charge to you.

Scheduling in General

Exterior concrete finishes are temperature and moisture sensitive, so weather plays a big part in scheduling. Generally, we begin to schedule our exterior concrete projects in the spring when weather is consistently in the low 40’s and rising.

Interior concrete finishes can be installed year around.

Exterior painting and touch-up scheduling is more flexible given Colorado’s semi-arid climate. Painters can paint exteriors year around as long as outside temperatures don’t dip below the mid-40’s in the daytime.
