Time to Repaint?

Even the most durable exterior siding and trim materials on your home will deteriorate if you do not follow through with a consistent and regular maintenance program.

How does the siding on your home’s exterior look?  Is it faded, chalked, or discolored?  Are you able to see the primer beneath the paint?  If your answer is yes, it’s time to repaint your siding.

Look at your window trim, soffits, and fascia … are there cracks in the paint’s surface?  Is the paint flaking or peeling … can you see raw wood?  If your answer is yes, it’s time to repaint your trim.

Are the edges of your garage doors worn or peeling?  Do they have dings and dents?  Do they show signs of wear and tear?  If your answer is yes, it’s time to repaint your garage doors.

Caulking is an important part of an exterior paint job – it’s your home’s first line of defense against moisture penetration behind windows and siding which can cause major problems down the road.  A properly painted house has caulking applied at every dissimilar juncture (i.e. window trim to siding, door jambs to siding, soffit to siding, etc.).  Are there cracks, holes, or gaps in the caulking?  If you see any deterioration, it’s time for new caulking.

Regularly inspecting and maintaining your home’s exterior adds significantly to its longevity … and an added bonus is it’s less costly in the long run!
